Getting to know you, getting to know all about you...
Or me, as the case may be.
Given the amount of traffic I have on a daily basis, I'm surprised that I don't have more people commenting. Don't get me wrong, I love that you all visit, but I'd like to get to know you a little better, and find out what it is that brings you back. Maybe it's the Texas girl in me, but why don't you guys bring up a chair, and I'll pour some lemonade (or something stronger if you'd like).
So, as I routinely do from time to time, I'm going to ask (and no, if you don't want to - obviously you don't have to... you're still welcome to lurk) those of you who are occasional or frequent readers to just pop in and say hi. Tell me how you found me, what you enjoy reading, what you wish I would change... etc. etc.
And yes, taking that initial step from lurkdom to commentor seems kind of scary at first, but trust me - that's how I've been able to find such a wonderful support system via blogland. At first I worried, what if I say something stupid? What if I offend someone? What if they don't like me? The best relationships (friendship and romantic) are those built on long conversations I think. So rest assured, it's o.k. to disagree with me, provided you do so civilly of course.
And whether you're a frequent or occasional commentor or a lurker, if there's something you want to know about me feel free to ask away. The floor is yours, and I'll try to answer it all in my next post.

Hi, I'm delurking :D I'm not sure how I found you. I think you actually found me first. Obviously we have IF in common although we are in slightly different stages. We also both live in the midwest. Not sure on location exactly, but I'm in IN. (You can share of not.) I don't think you should change a thing. I enjoy reading about you and will continue.
I try to comment a lot :) I can't remember where I found you now though, I've been reading for quite a while.
I just started visiting after you commented on my blog. I love getting comments so I commiserate with your need to know who the lurkers are and why they lurk and don't speak. Keep at it!
THANK YOU for the comment, er, comment. My traffic is steady, yet the comments, oh, the comments. I don't know where they bloody went!
I think I probably found you by your comments on my blog or someone else's. Not sure.
My question is--as you're a Texan now, do you have big hair?
haha
Hi, actually I found you through Julie's list. I'm not TTCing, but I still like to read your blog, especially since I'm going into law myself! : )
I think you left a comment on my blog, so I followed you home. I'm wondering about the hair too - but not because you're in TX, but because the big hair thing is on your profile - is that a TX reference?
OK - here's a question - are you an Astros fan?
Ok - here's another question - are you in any way related to or affiliated with Insane Clown Posse?
I'm sure I found you from a comment you left on someone else's blog...and one day you said something that spoke to me so I had to speak back. Why did you move from TX to the midwest? I've never lived more than 10 miles from the Pacific so I can't really fathom living in either place, but I am interested in you non-coaster folks too.
Hi! I comment fairly frequently bc I love getting comments. I'm a comment whore, in fact. :) I can't remember how I found you (I THINK you left a comment over at my place), but I'm glad I did bc I love your blog!
I was also totally afraid to comment when I first got started blogging - afraid I'd say the wrong thing, or wouldn't know what to say.
And then I realized how much the comments I was getting meant to me, and I haven't shut up since!
I think I remember that you're a golfer? (Please forgive me if I'm mixing you up with someone else). How long have you been doing that for? What got you into it? (I started playing when I met M - he loved golfing, so I figured I could either be a golf widow, or learn to play. and the latter sounded like a lot more fun!)
ok, guilty as charged. a fully fledged lurker. found you through some link or another, and am now hooked! also battling if, in the throes of ivf#2. love your sense of humour. (from south africa)
I try and comment fairly regularly but most days I'm too busy and just try to read as much as I can.
I've got two questions for you-
(1) What has been the happiest moment of your life?
(2) If you won a $million what would you spend it on?
Southern sweet tea please!
I don't remember how I found you and I like to read anything people feel about writing about, I just like frequent posts!
Hi, Erin here from VivalaColombia. Here via the Infertile Lawyers Guild.
I didn't win the lottery last night. I guess that's about all I have to say about that.
Hi!
I think I also followed you home from a comment left on my blog. I like what I have seen so I keep coming around. ;0)
My question (you have probably heard before): As a lawyer, do you enjoy John Grisham novels or do you have trouble with suspension of disbelief? In that same way, do you like Law and Order or other legal shows on TV or do you want nothing to do with law in your free time?
I comment now and then. No idea how I found you -- clicking in from another blog I guess. It's nice to find the younger infertiles to chum with.
Hey,
I forget how I made my way here. It was kind of recently, so that doesn't say a lot for my mental acuity.
I love comments and get very few. I don't write for comments, but it sure would be nice to feel listened to, laughed at/with. I see people coming by DAILY to read who do not comment. I should feel good they're compelled to visit, but it depresses me that they don't talk to me.
My step-sister (and I use the term loosely) is named April. I've probably never been in the same room long enough to ask her, so I'll ask you. I am so very sure this is cliche, but are you born in April? Did your mom esp like April? Is your middle name Showers?
Okay, now you'll never comment on my blog again!
I can ask all this silliness b/c you don't know my real name - there are plenty, umm, plenty of stupid questions to go with that!
No questions, just a "hello" from an occasional reader.
I don't even remember how I found your blog, but I've been a longtime lurker. I'm rather stubborn and am determined to see all of the ttc crowd get their happy endings. :-)
I forget how I found you? Landismom? Jessica (Daughter of Opinion)?
Anyway, I started reading you around April and you were going through a really bad patch re: IF and I kept coming back to check up but you went on a haitus. Glad to see you posting more regularly, going to assume that means you're in a better place?
How did you and DH meet?
I think I 'found' you from Julie's list back a'ways. And of course, you and I have had some lovely e-mail exchanges, etc., along the way, as well as comments on posts.
So my question is a fairly easy one--do you like your new midwestern locale more than you liked living down here? I mean, granted, you're not dealing with the reality of another hurricane (like I currently am) but...the midwest? Don't get me wrong; I like the midwest, have visited many times, have several friends there but I just can't imagine living there. Nothing personal, I'm sure it's lovely (and you get a change of seasons, which is truly lovely). But I have a feeling you miss the south (Texas, that is). Any chance you'll return there one day for good?
I actually found your non-fertility blog first. I read an article about German beer and was trying to figure out the difference between Hefeweizen and Hoegarten, so I Googled them....and there was a link to your Beer Diary. I was hooked ever since. I enjoy your writing style and how relatable you come across. Thanks for sharing. (Lurking in NYC)
From one comment-whore to another... cheers! Found you on Words To Live By blog (dhsquared.blogspot.com)... I'll keep reading!
Hi April! I found your blog because you left a wonderful comment on mine :) I just found you today so I'll do a little catching up!
I'm a comment-whore too... so of course I was all excited to see yours today!! Cheers!
Wait a second -- there are blogs about things besides infertility??? What's the world coming to?
I'm dumb. I got your geographical history confused -- for some reason I thought you were a Midwesterner living in Texas rather than a transplanted Texan. Regardless, I still want to know if you have big hair.
April, I can't remember where I found you. From someone's comments I think. But I'm not a lurker and you know a lot about me - or as much as anyone on here! I'm happy just discovering bits of you as you reveal them, can't think of any specifics.
Sorry I haven't commented before now. I have the same thing going on with my blog...a fair amount of traffic and very few comments. I went through a long bout of multiple miscarriages/secondary infertility which thankfully seems (please dear God) to be over. My hubby and I are both military brats living in central North Carolina.
I can't remember how I found your blog...probably from the blogroll of one of the the many other IF blogs I read. I enjoy reading what you write and the feeling of not being alone in all this makes me feel MUCH better.
And I'm curious about the hair, too. :-)
