Big beauty queen wave....

Since I don't have the cool way of tracking how people end up on my site (or if I do - I just have no idea how to use it, I can't find a rational explanation for this - but... in the last 20 hours or so the number of people looking at my profile has doubled. I'm not sure who you guys are, or if you're even reading, but if you are - that's me - the redhead - waving that big cheesy beauty queen parade wave hello.

Howdy. Feel free to delurk yourselves. I'd love to hear what brought you here, what made you read - and what made you keep reading if you do.

Y'all come back now, ya hear? (ok. I still have a deep texas accent when I'm tired or drinking).

Hi there. Been here before and coming back every now and then.

Not totally internet savvy here, but I did managed to figure out how to see how many times my website gets viewed and from where, etc. But I wish I had never figured it out. Because frankly, now it feels like my website is one big open house with glass windows. I *know* people can see/read in, and see all that's happening. And yet, they say nothing at all (except beautiful Moogielou at Fractured Fairtale).

Metaphorically, it is as though they see me being wounded and no word of consolation or act of help, or seeing that I had landed my dream job but no word of congratulations. As if my blog (and me) is somehow transparent and they're just passing through without really reading, comprehending, or caring.

But I do know they are reading. And I do know these people have some sense of commodarie, but somehow, it is reserved for the elite bloggers. Perhaps I'm wrong and they get tens of thousands of hits in order to generate the couple hundred comments.

I'm turning absolutely green. Sorry I'll stop hogging your site now. I might blog about this on my site later.

"And I do know these people have some sense of commodarie"I meant "camaraderie".
I don't need friends; I need Spelling Classes.

Well, I first came here through Julie's list. But I do have tracking on my site, and I can show you how to do it if you like. But it is a double edged sword, so think if you really whant to do it! My email is in my profile if you want the help.

One fun and free way to check your site hits is to install a site meter. Check out www.sitemeter.com. All you do is register with a username for your account, and then insert a piece of code (which they will give you) into your template at the bottom. I think they may have a way to do it for you, if you're like me and code challenged. And hey presto- lots of fun info as to who is visiting from where, and when and all that jazz! And for free! I also use statcounter.com cause the info is slightly different and a bit better in terms of being able to track specific readers- in a basic way, not like a stalker! Again, free! Good luck!

I read because you make me laugh, and you give me hope.

Hey neighbor (well kinda)! I can't remember how I found your blog but I can guarantee it was from a link on someone else's--plus the name of it intrigued me so I just had to check you out. I came for the name, stayed for the witty banter!

I keep reading and hoping that one of these days you're going to get your big break, and I don't mean break down. Anyone that can reference both George Strait and The Dead Milkmen is good in my book.
